Final page has the publisher's information in Japanese with the original price of .50 Yen. "This is the first reliable account in English, so far published, of the recent military operations around Shanghai. It has been compiled from official data kindly furnished by the Press Section of the War Office." (taken from foreword). Book is meant to accurately and briefly chronicle the invasion of Manchuria by the Imperial Japanese Army, which began on September 19 1931, immediately following the Mukden Incident, which marked the beginning of the Second Sino-Japanese War. The Japanese occupation of Manchuria would lasted until the end of World War II. Sunning & tearing to wrappers, crease on bottom right hand corner and inch by half inch section missing from top left hand corner of front wrapper. Yellowing to front endpaper due to age, except for space where the errata has laid all these years. Front wrapper detached. Hinges slightly starting. Wraps in poor, interior in good - very good condition. g. Item #19425
