Born in 1850, he was already recognized as a young rabbinic prodigy and genius at the age of 15, as he was quoted in the responsa of his teacher, the famed and celebrated Rabbi Josef Saul Nathanson at Lemberg in one of his responsa. As his career progressed, he became one of the most well known speakers against Anti-Semitism. The second bound in work, "Appel an Amerika." is by Alfred Hugenberg (1865 - 1951) who was an influential German businessman and politician. He was a member of Adolf Hitler's first cabinet in 1933.
