Carlinga di Aeropoeti Futuristi di Guerra (Edizioni di Mediterraneo Futurista No. 8)

Rome: Cagliari, 1928. First edition. Softcover. 8vo. 112 pp. Original paper wrappers with black and red lettering on front cover. Book is an interesting volume containing writing from the Futurism literary movement. Author of the foreword and editor of the series, Filippo Tommaso Emilio Marinetti (1876 - 1944) was an Italian ideologue, poet, editor, and main founder of the futurist movement of the early 20th century. Futurism was an art movement that originated in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century that explored every medium of art, including painting, sculpture, poetry, theatre, music, architecture and even gastronomy. Marinetti was the author of the “Futurist Manifesto,” where he declared that "Art . . . can be nothing but violence, cruelty, and injustice". Since that text proclaims the unity of life and art, Marinetti understood violence not only as a means of producing an aesthetic effect, but also as being inherent in life itself. Text in Italian. Age wear to wrappers. Some pages unopened. Yellowing to pages due to age. Book is in good - very good condition. g. Item #19337
