Stunning first edition of this beautiful "large Bible of Mortier", profusely illustrated with numerous full-page engravings and large engraved vignettes, as well as 5 double-page engraved maps. Some edge wear on bindings with joints of first volume cracked but boards still holding. Joints of second volume partly cracked. Corners bumped and rubbed. Some staining (dark spots) and rubbing on boards and spines. Bookplate of previous owner (Francis Beresford Wright), on back of each front board. Text in Dutch.
