Frontispiece of Flavius Josephus in lovely turban in first vol. Second vol. has a frontispiece with a view of the City of Jerusalem, both are copper engravings. Both vols. have a number of lovely copper engravings depicting various biblical and historical scenes.
Back board of vol. 1 and front board of vol. 2 loose but present, with front board of vol. 1 starting to split but still attached. Serious cracks to spines, with lower part of spine missing at vol. 1. Closed tears to title at spine of vol. 1, with wear to title at spine of vol. 2. Ex library stamp to title pages of volumes. Age wear to binding. Serious foxing to both title pages. Browning and foxing throughout. Overall readable and tight. Binding in poor, books in fair condition. poor. Item #18686
