Paul Delvaux (1897 - 1994) was one of the major exponents of surrealism in Belgium. This collection is primarily comprised of female nudes, the work he is most famous for. The lithographs in this work are absolutely striking. Rather than depicting his subjects in a seductive or sexual manner, as one might expect with nudes, he captured their innocence and inner beauty.
