German abstracts of 953 extant responsa ["she'elot u-teshuvoth in Hebrew, abbreviated shu"t]. Originally published in "Peri Eitz Chaim/ Peri Ez Hayyim" [Fruits of the Tree of Life] , the Hebrew periodical of Amsterdam's renowned Sephardic Yeshiva [Talmud Academy] "Ets Hayim", founded in 1616 as a center for all of Sephardic Jewry. The periodical was published between 1691-1807 and gives a detailed view on Jewish life in Amsterdam of the time. With a Hebrew and a German index.
