This delightful collection of 14 poems by French novelist and poet Jean Rameau (1859-1942) is splendidly illustrated throughout with 28 duo-tone etchings (2 per poem) by Ary Gambard. Rameau's love for his native region (the Landes) seems to have inspired many of the poems featured in this volume. One of 400 copies printed on Holland paper, of which this is No. 147 (of a general edition of 500 copies). Closed tears along portfolio's tail of spine. One-inch piece on head of spine missing. Offsetting along fore-edge of dust-jacket. Moderate and sporadic foxing along fore-edge of a few pages (not affecting text or plates). Text in French.
