Book plates to endpapers: "Tamblo library" and "Henry Englander Memorial Library". Stamp to free front endpaper: "Presbyterian College, Belfast" inscribed: "F.IIII.15." Printed on parchment. Sporadic foxing and browning to pages, not affecting text. Pictorial b/w engraved frontispiece, portraying Breithaupt (the translator and editor). Great translation of the commentaries to some of the most important Jewish texts, among them Prophets and Proverbs. Originally written by Rashi (1040-1105), a Hebrew acronym for Rabbi Shlomo Yitzchaki, or Rabbi Shlomo Yarchi, who wrote the first comprehensive commentaries on the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible) and Talmud, and is one of the classic Jewish commentators.
