This promotional publication was issued to coincide with the release of 1948 film adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet, directed by and starring Laurence Olivier. This acclaimed production went on to win four Academy Awards, including Best Picture in 1949. It was the first non-American film to win Best Picture. Profusely illustrated throughout with b/w photographic reproductions showing behind-the-scenes images from the making of the film. Text throughout discusses the production and the cast. A final section at the rear discusses the history of productions of the play and Shakespeare's writing.

Laid in on the first page is a scarce small duo-tone film program in red. 2 pages folded.

Wrappers with some minor to light rubbing to extremities. Some light creases and closed tears on the back cover. Interior with some creases to the lower corner of the pages. Protected by modern mylar. Wrappers in very good-, interior very good condition overall. vg- to vg. Item #46802
