Original gray cloth with red lettering on cover and spine, housed in slipcase with photographic paper-covered boards.

Comprehensive report on the "National Exhibition (Reichausstellung) Creative People (Schaffendes Volk) 1937" with extensive photographic documentation, color fold-out of the exhibition grounds, a diagram relating to the production of synthetics, a list of participating architects and credits for photographs, most prominently Heinrich Hoffmann. Preceding the report is a quote by Adolf Hitler from the National Convention of Honor (Reichsparteitag der Ehre) in Nuremberg, 1936: "In four years Germany has to be completely independent from foreign countries regarding those commodities, that somehow can be procured through German ingenuity and our chemicals, engineering and mining industries."

The report was completed on October 17th, 1939, and published with a foreword by the president of the board for this exhibition Ernst Poensgen. The exhibition's patron was field marshal Hermann Göring and it is considered to be the most important propaganda exhibition during the time of National Socialism. Profusely illustrated with striking b/w photographs of the extensive exhibition grounds, a photographic walk through the various exhibition halls, exhibited model houses, visiting celebrities and photographs of the extensive construction period which created a completely new urban district named after the NS cult figure Albert Leo Schlageter. Laid in a folded, printed memento, reiterating the importance of the exhibition, by Poensgen and the Düsseldorf Major Dr. Haidn. Text in German, Gothic script. Paper covers of slipcase moderately wavy due to water exposure, some tears and chips with part of the printed label missing. Bindings with moderated soiling of spines and covers at bottom. Volum one starting before last photograph at rear. Slipcase in overall fair, bindings in good-, interior in very good condition. fair to vg. Item #40108
