This collection of Poe's best stories contains all the terrifying and bewildering tales that characterize his work, as well as the Gothic horror of 'The Pit and the Pendulum' with other similarly weird tales, together with all three of the landmark cases featuring his ground-breaking detective Auguste Dupin. This edition is magnificently illustrated with 24 b/w illustrations and 8 tipped in color plates by Harry Clarke. Moderate rubbing and soiling on box. Minor age-wear on dust-jacket with 0.5" closed tear along upper edge of front cover. Box in overall good, dust-jacket in good+ to very good, binding and interior in very good condition.
