The company was founded by August Carl Bauch and Emil Gleisberg on 1 April 1887. The two friends worked for five years in the American metal industry and applied the technologies, ideas and techniques that they learned abroad to their new business in Germany. Profusely illustrated with b/w reproductions of photographs showing the Bauch family, management, employee accommodations, as well as workers in various departments of the factory. Book design and layout by H. Kramer, Dresden. Text in German. "Archiv" stamped on upper right corner of front wrapper. Minor staining and creasing on wraps. Scarce.
