This exceptional and fascinating art work has been made according to Remizov's favorite method of composition, which is a mixte medium collage, a technique of gluing superimposed multiple layers of paper, with frames or borders defining each individual drawing and the work as a whole. The Bestiaire depicts three allegoric animal characters, of which one can be identified as a hog. Remizov's predilection for fantastic, distorted, fragmented and non-figurative images is clearly shown in this drawing. This work is dated "Paris 1927" and the caption is in Russian and French. This stunning and unique piece of Art is in near mint condition.
