August Bebel (1840-1913) was a German social democrat and one of the founders of the Social Democratic Party of Germany. This rare brochure was published in 1932 when unemployment und unrest was at a peak in Germany. Nazis and Communists fiercely fought each other while the Social Democrats attempted to turn around the misery by more civilized means. This work shows many of their ideas in humorous caricatures and sketches, as well as illustrated tables in color and b/w. Unfortunately the parties ideas fell on deaf ears since many of the German people and workers blamed the desperate economic situation on the SPD and their weak politics during the Weimar Republic. This brochure was a supplement to a newsletter from 15th July, 1932 by the Association of German Iron and Steel Industrialists ((Anlage zum Rundschreiben des Vereins Deutscher Eisen- und Stahlindistrueller vom 15.7.1932 ). The Association represented common economic and social issues in the field of iron- and steel-based industries in Germany.
