Jean Astruc (1684-1766) was professor of anatomy at Toulouse and Montpellier, principal physician to the king of Poland, and professor at the medical school in Paris. Of the more than two dozen medical books he published, the present one is the most famous. Some edge wear on binding with boards and spine slightly soiled and rumpled. Tail of spine somewhat worn. One inked mathematical computation on front cover. Minor foxing throughout. Text in Latin. Binding in overall good, interior in very good condition.
