Publisher Information: Cap de la Gorguette. Sanary (V NP

Fascinating autograph letter from one of the most prominent English writers of the 20th century. This 2-page document was written in the French Riviera, where Aldous Huxley was living at the time while writing "Brave New World." The letter is addressed to a friend named Thoma (unidentified) and giving him directions on how to get to the Huxley's residence. Drawn by the author, a vicinity map detailing the immediate area surrounding his house. In the last part of his letter–obviously in response to a question–Aldous Huxley tells his friend that he is just back from England, and that he hasn't seen [Jean] Cocteau for two months. Letter written on a personalized parchemin paper, with the mention "Cap de la Gorguette. Sanary (Var)" printed in blue on upper right side. The document was originaly folded in 4, and still shows the folding marks. 10.5" x 8 1/4". Letter in very good condition.
